BITS School of Management (BITSOM) is a new-age global business school under the aegis of BITS Pilani, located in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. BITSoM offers a two-year full-time residential MBA program with a future-ready curriculum and a transformative experience that prepares students to be lifelong learners and thrive in an ever-changing business landscape.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science with first class.
- At least 15 years of experience as a Librarian/Chief Librarian in a University Library or in a Research Library or in a renowned B-School Library.
- Evidence of innovative library services, including the integration of ICT in a library.
- A Ph.D. in Library and Information Science will be an added advantage.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Substantial experience in a broad spectrum of library operations, including E-Resource management, research support services, scholarly communication, library instruction, and digital transformation of library operations & practices.
- Evidence of innovative library services, including integration of ICT in a library.
- Evidence of integration of library resources & services in teaching, learning, and research.
- Extensive knowledge of contemporary digital library practices, trends, & emerging technologies.
- Knowledge of print & digital repositories & archives.
- Knowledge of Open Science & Open Access.
- Scholarly publications in journals of repute.
- Leadership & management skills to build & foster close relationships with all stakeholders.
- Affiliation with professional bodies, library consortia & networks, exposure to global library practices.
